Hi Reader,
After celebrating 10,000 followers last week, I thought I’d be riding high. Instead, I hit pause.
Yesterday, I opened my laptop, and I just wanted to close it again.
Not because I’m not grateful. I am.
But because sometimes, after a big milestone, the quiet creeps in.
And it asks:
Now what?
That question feels especially strange when you’re someone like me.
And yet, here I am. Asking again:
What’s my purpose now?
This week, I found myself returning to A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose by Eckhart Tolle.
One passage in particular stopped me:
Your life has an inner purpose and an outer purpose. Inner purpose concerns Being and is primary. Outer purpose concerns doing and is secondary.
We spend so much time refining our outer purpose: titles, goals, projects, and performance.
But our inner purpose? Presence. Awareness. Growth. That one’s quieter. Harder to measure. Easier to ignore.
However, research can remind us that it matters more than we think.
A March 2025 McKinsey Health Institute Report found that companies investing in employee well-being through deeper alignment and purpose (not just perks) see higher productivity and significantly lower burnout.
And Stanford’s 2025 Compassion Report revealed that leaders who cultivate awareness and compassion foster stronger teams, better collaboration, and resilience in the face of uncertainty.
So this week, I’m asking myself:
- What’s truly driving me (alignment or obligation)?
- Where am I performing on autopilot instead of leading with presence?
- And what might shift if I let purpose lead (even without knowing exactly where it will take me)?
It’s liberating to know that you don’t have to have the full vision to take the next step. You just have to stay connected to something real.
And, that we are all still figuring it out.
