Issue 61: The Week We Launched (A Week Late)

ISSUE 61

22 OCTOBER 2025 | READ ONLINE

Hi Reader,

Last week, we finally launched the Institute for Safety Coaching and Leadership.

Yes. We launched a week later than planned. And no. It wasn’t because of a clever marketing tactic.

Here’s what really happened.

Our website was too slow. Our messaging wasn’t quite right. And there were still little details that didn’t feel finished.

So we paused.

We brought in a contractor to fix the speed issues, refined the words so they sounded like us, and adjusted every piece until it felt aligned.

And when we finally pressed “launch,” we were feeling great (until our security certificate expired).

Oops. Rookie error 😏

What That Pause Taught Me

  1. Deadlines create focus, but alignment creates flow.
A date pushes you forward, but alignment ensures the work means something.
  2. Perfectionism hides behind professionalism.
“We’re just refining the details” can sound responsible, but sometimes it masks fear. The real art is knowing when refinement is courage and when it’s avoidance.
  3. Patience pays off.
The “lost” week became the week we got it right.

Proof That Real Connection Works

A few days after the launch, I shared a simple, human post on LinkedIn:

That post has now reached more than 22,000 people. It’s the most engagement I’ve ever had on a LinkedIn post.

Why?

Because people don’t connect with perfection, they connect with truth.

That single story about sometimes feeling socially awkward struck a chord with tens of thousands of people. And it’s still going.

The Deeper Lesson

Maybe my mum was right when she said, “Good things come to those who wait.”

But I’d add: Great things come to those who wait with intention and show up authentically when they do.

That pause before the launch wasn’t wasted.

It created space for something more human: both in the Institute and in me.

This Week, Try This

  • Ask yourself: Am I forcing a timeline or following the truth?
  • Share something imperfect but real (you’ll be surprised who it reaches).
  • Remember: readiness isn’t a date. It might just be a feeling of alignment.

So the week we “launched late” became the week everything clicked, and the week the connection reached further than I ever expected.

Thank you for being part of this journey and for reminding me that impact is built on authenticity, not urgency.

See you next week,

Megan
