Issue 77: The LinkedIn Fireworks I Didn’t Expect

ISSUE 77

11 MARCH 2026 | READ ONLINE

Hi Reader,

I have to tell you about the past two days.

Because they’ve been bonkers.

I’ve been slowly revealing a collaboration I’ve been working on for a couple of months with a global company. At the same time, I put out a call for coaches. And then – LinkedIn exploded. My posts are getting engagement numbers I haven’t seen in months. Comments, shares, new connections, people messaging me saying, I’ve been waiting for this opportunity.

And honestly? It’s a little bit shocking.

Not because I didn’t put in the work (believe me, I did). But because the response reminded me of something I forget sometimes: when you put out something authentic, clear, and brave, people notice. People respond.

How have I been responding?

I may have panicked (honest truth), especially as I had four 1:1 coaching sessions on launch day. Then, I just leaned in. I read the comments, replied as thoughtfully as I could, and let the excitement fuel me rather than overwhelm me. I celebrated small wins, noticed patterns in what people resonated with, and allowed myself to be human about it: excited, tired, curious, energized, a little nervous.

Second, I noticed the learning in real time:

  • People respond to authenticity more than polish.
  • Clarity over cleverness wins.
  • Momentum matters. Once you get it, nurture it, but don’t micromanage every reaction.
  • And finally, you can only go as fast as your energy allows.

I say this final point about energy, but I have worked out how to add a contact into HubSpot on my phone, and have a template email to send out (ah, productivity!), so I can reply quickly now.

It feels like a microcosm of building a career – and when I think about it, maybe it also applies when you’re building any purpose-driven work. You can’t engineer everything. You can’t control every response. But you can create the conditions for impact: be clear, be bold, be ready to act when the opportunity is right.

So here’s what I want you to notice this week:

When you put something meaningful out into the world, notice how people show up. Notice your own response. What excites you? What drains you? What feels effortless, and what feels forced?

That’s your guide. Not the metrics, not the comparison, not the fear of what might happen. Your energy is your compass.

A Small Experiment for This Week

Option A: The Momentum Check

Pick one thing you’ve shared recently (a project, a post, a conversation, an idea), and notice who shows up and how. Ask yourself:

  • Who responded in ways that matter to me?
  • What part of this felt aligned vs. forced?
  • Where is there space to lean in, and where do I need to step back?

Option B: The Response Reset

Take 10 minutes at the end of the day and journal your answers to:

  • What surprised me about how people responded?
  • What surprised me about how I responded?
  • One small, brave action I can take tomorrow based on this insight.

It’s tempting to chase every number or reaction. But the real signal is how you show up, how you feel, and what you decide to do next.

Now, please excuse me while I go and answer some more messages on LinkedIn. And if you’d like to learn more, feel free to hit reply, and I’ll share details with you.

See you next week,
